"The Trooper" is a song by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, the song, inspired by Lord Tennyson's poem about the Battle of Balaclava. It was released as the second single on 20 June 1983 from the band's fourth studio album, Piece of Mind (1983). It was one of only a few songs to get much radio airplay in the US, thus peaking at No. 28 on the US Mainstream Rock charts.
I told my mom I was spending the night at a friends house when i was 10. He told his mom he was spending the night at mine. His older brother smuggled us both to see Iron Maiden live. My ears still haven't stopped ringing. I'm 48 now, haha.
